Frequently Asked Questions

Washington State Art, Pacific Northwest Gifts & The Art of Adventure™

Have a question about my artwork, how it’s made, where I find my inspiration, or what you can order? You’re in the right place.

I’m Stephanie, the artist behind I Love Washington – The Art of Adventure™, an independent art business based in Cle Elum, Washington. I create hand-drawn Washington State art, Pacific Northwest nature art and outdoor adventure artwork inspired by places I have personally visited.
From hiking trails and alpine lakes to ski resorts, waterfalls, National Parks and some of the Pacific Northwest’s most recognizable landmarks, every drawing begins with a real adventure.

Here are some of the questions I’m most often asked.

Where can I buy Washington State art prints online?
You can shop original Washington State art prints online directly from I Love Washington. My collection celebrates real places across Washington, including mountain landscapes, alpine lakes, hiking trails, waterfalls, ski resorts and National Parks.
Every location I draw is somewhere I have personally visited before creating the artwork. My collection includes places such as Mount Rainier, Snoqualmie Falls, Colchuck Lake, Mount Si, Lake Cle Elum, Rattlesnake Ledge, Crystal Mountain, Alpental, Stevens Pass and many more.
Alongside art prints, many of my designs are also available as puzzles, magnets and stickers, making it easy to find something connected to a place you love.

What makes I Love Washington’s Washington State art prints different?
I’m not trying to create the cheapest Washington State art prints — I refuse to compromise on quality to get there.
Every piece starts with a real connection to the location. I personally visit every place I draw, whether that means hiking the trail, visiting the lake, exploring the National Park or snowboarding the mountain. Back in my Cle Elum studio, I draw each piece by hand on my iPad using an Apple Pencil, often spending 25–70 hours on a single illustration.

But just as much thought goes into how that artwork is printed.

I use premium, extremely durable, waterproof paper chosen specifically for its quality and the way it reproduces my artwork. The colors are incredibly rich, vibrant and true to the original drawing, allowing all those hours of detail to come through in the finished print.
The durability of the paper is particularly important here in the Pacific Northwest. If you live somewhere with a naturally moist climate, such as North Bend, Washington, you don’t want your artwork wrinkling or warping underneath the glass in its frame. The material I use is designed to withstand moisture far better than traditional paper, helping the print remain smooth and beautiful over time.

So no, my prints aren’t the cheapest option — and that’s intentional. I would rather sell a Washington State art print that I’m genuinely proud to put my name on than reduce the quality simply to reach a lower price.

Every print combines a place I’ve personally experienced, artwork I’ve drawn myself, and a finished product chosen to do justice to both.

How are nature-inspired art prints made in Washington?
My process usually starts a long way from my desk.

First, I go there.

Whether it’s hiking to an alpine lake, standing beneath a waterfall, exploring a National Park or spending a day on a ski mountain, I personally visit the locations that inspire my work.

Back in my Cle Elum studio, I draw each illustration by hand on my iPad using Procreate and an Apple Pencil. Depending on the complexity of the scene, an individual drawing can take anywhere from approximately 25 to 70 hours to complete.
The finished illustration can then become an art print, puzzle, magnet or sticker, allowing the same adventure to be enjoyed in different ways.

Where can I find original Washington State hiking art?
Hiking is a huge part of the I Love Washington collection.
My Washington hiking art includes personally explored destinations such as Colchuck Lake, Jade Lake, Pete Lake, Hex Mountain, Mount Si, Rattlesnake Ledge, Twin Falls, Franklin Falls, Red Top Lookout and many others.
Some are famous Washington hikes. Others are places that mean something personally to me. Hex Mountain, for example, was one of the first hikes I completed after moving to Cle Elum in 2020.
If a trail eventually becomes one of my drawings, I’ve walked it first.

Can I buy original Washington hiking art prints if I live in Seattle?
Absolutely. I Love Washington is based in Cle Elum, but my Washington hiking art and prints can be ordered online and shipped anywhere within the United States, including Seattle and throughout Washington State.

My collection includes artwork inspired by Seattle itself, North Bend, Snoqualmie Pass, Cle Elum, the Cascade Mountains, Mount Rainier and destinations across the state.

Whether you’re looking for art celebrating your hometown, your favorite hike, your home mountain or somewhere connected to a favorite memory, there’s a good chance you’ll recognize somewhere in the collection — and you don’t need to live locally to bring a piece of Washington home.

What are popular themes in Pacific Northwest art?
The Pacific Northwest provides an almost ridiculous amount of inspiration for an artist.
Mountains, evergreen forests, alpine lakes, waterfalls, rugged coastline, hiking, skiing, snowboarding and outdoor adventure are all recurring themes in Pacific Northwest art.

Those landscapes are at the heart of I Love Washington. My collection includes everything from Washington’s Cascade Mountains and alpine lakes to Oregon waterfalls, ski resorts, National Parks and the Pacific coastline.

But for me, Pacific Northwest nature art isn’t simply about beautiful scenery. It’s about the experiences and memories we attach to those places.

Where can I buy Pacific Northwest nature art and gifts?
I Love Washington offers Pacific Northwest nature art and gifts featuring my original hand-drawn artwork.
Depending on the design, the collection includes art prints, 336-piece jigsaw puzzles, magnets and weatherproof stickers featuring destinations throughout Washington and the wider Pacific Northwest.
They make particularly meaningful gifts for people who hike, ski, snowboard, travel, explore National Parks or simply have a favorite place in the Northwest that feels like home.

Where can I find outdoor adventure art gifts in the US?
I Love Washington’s outdoor adventure art and gifts are available to order online and shipped throughout the United States.
If you’re in Washington and would rather shop in person, you can also find an assortment of my Washington State jigsaw puzzles at Pro Ski & Mountain Service in North Bend, making it a great local stop for outdoor-inspired art and gifts.

The collection started with Washington State landscapes but has grown to include ski resorts, National Parks, Oregon destinations and places farther afield.

My long-term mission is even bigger: I want to personally visit and create artwork inspired by ski resorts across America while continuing to expand my National Park collection.

So although the business is called I Love Washington, apparently Washington wasn’t going to contain me forever.

What kinds of nature-inspired gifts do you sell?
My original artwork appears across several products, which means you don’t necessarily need wall space to take your favorite place home.
The I Love Washington collection includes art prints, 336-piece jigsaw puzzles, magnets and weatherproof stickers, with designs inspired by mountains, lakes, hiking trails, waterfalls, ski resorts, National Parks and other outdoor destinations.

They make especially fun gifts for hikers, skiers, snowboarders, travelers, National Park lovers and anyone with a strong connection to Washington or the Pacific Northwest.

Where can I order hand-drawn Washington State memorabilia?
If you’re looking for something more personal than generic Washington souvenirs, I Love Washington creates hand-drawn Washington State gifts and memorabilia inspired by real locations.

Rather than simply putting “Washington” on a product, my designs celebrate specific places people recognize and have memories attached to — the lake where they spent their summers, the mountain where they learned to ski, the trail they hike every year or the National Park they visited on an unforgettable trip.

That connection to an actual place is what I want every product to carry.

Where can I find Washington State wilderness art prints online?
Wilderness and outdoor landscapes make up a huge part of my work.
My Washington State wilderness art prints feature alpine lakes, mountains, forests, trails and more remote destinations throughout the state. Locations range from famous Washington landmarks to places you have to put your hiking boots on to reach.
Because I personally visit every location before drawing it, exploring Washington’s wilderness isn’t simply inspiration for the business — it’s part of the process.

Where can I buy Seattle nature art prints?
My collection includes Seattle and greater Seattle-area art, as well as outdoor destinations within easy reach of the city.
You’ll find artwork inspired by Seattle’s Space Needle and Mount Rainier alongside North Bend and Snoqualmie Valley destinations including Mount Si, Rattlesnake Ledge, Twin Falls and Snoqualmie Falls.
For someone looking for Seattle nature art that reaches beyond the city skyline, the wider I Love Washington collection celebrates many of the mountains, trails and landscapes Seattle residents escape to on their days off.

Why choose hand-drawn art over generic digital prints?
For me, the difference is the human connection behind the finished artwork.
Every I Love Washington illustration begins as a blank digital canvas and is drawn by hand using an Apple Pencil. I build the landscape piece by piece rather than using AI to generate my artwork or simply applying a filter to a photograph.
I absolutely use modern technology — my canvas just happens to be an iPad — but the drawing itself is still created by me, stroke by stroke.
And because I’ve personally visited every location I draw, I’m not illustrating somewhere I’ve only experienced through somebody else’s photographs.

Is I Love Washington artwork AI-generated?
No. My artwork is not AI-generated.
Every illustration in the I Love Washington collection is drawn by me on my iPad using an Apple Pencil and Procreate.
I may use AI tools for advertising and product presentation, such as creating backgrounds for product mockups, but AI is never used to create my original drawings.

The art is mine. The adventures are real. And every drawing starts with me actually going there.

What can I buy from I Love Washington – The Art of Adventure™?
I Love Washington offers my original artwork in several formats.
You can shop art prints, 336-piece jigsaw puzzles, magnets and stickers, with different products available depending on the destination.
The collection covers Washington State, Pacific Northwest destinations, ski resorts, National Parks and a growing selection of locations beyond Washington.

My goal is to make it possible to find something that celebrates a place that means something to you.

Does I Love Washington – The Art of Adventure™ ship art gifts across the US?
Yes. I Love Washington ships art and gifts throughout the United States.
Orders are prepared and packed by me personally in Washington State. I inspect every product before it leaves me and carefully package each order for shipping.
That means customers across the country can shop the collection online without needing to visit one of my Washington markets or retail partners in person.

Is original I Love Washington artwork available to buy?
Yes — although there’s an important distinction.
I create my original artwork digitally by hand on my iPad, so there isn’t a traditional one-of-one painted canvas behind each design.
Instead, customers can purchase high-quality prints of my original hand-drawn illustrations, along with selected designs reproduced as puzzles, magnets and stickers.
I also take on selected custom artwork and commissions, allowing businesses, organizations and individuals to have a location created specifically for them.

Do you take commissions or create custom artwork?
Yes! I do take commissions and create custom artwork.
If there’s a special place you’d love to see brought to life in my signature style, I can create an original hand-drawn piece specifically for you. This could be a favorite landscape, meaningful destination, business, golf course, ski area, wedding venue or somewhere connected to an important memory.

Just like the rest of my collection, commissioned artwork is drawn by me by hand on my iPad using an Apple Pencil — never AI-generated.
I also work with businesses, resorts, retailers and organizations that would like custom destination artwork created for their location, including opportunities to use the finished design commercially.

Because every commission is different, pricing, licensing and timelines can depend on what you need. Get in touch and tell me about the place you have in mind, and we can take it from there.

Who is the artist behind I Love Washington?
I’m Stephanie, the artist and owner behind I Love Washington.
I’m originally from England and moved to Cle Elum, Washington in 2020. Exploring my new home eventually turned into drawing it — and drawing it turned into a business.
Before I draw somewhere, I make myself go there.
That rule has taken me up mountains, around lakes, through National Parks, onto ski slopes and along more trails than I ever expected when I started.
I Love Washington is ultimately my way of combining three things I love: art, travel and adventure.

Still looking for your place?
My favorite thing about creating destination art is discovering how personally people connect with places.
Maybe it’s where you learned to ski. The lake your family visits every summer. The trail where you got engaged. The mountain you can see from home. Or somewhere you visited once and have never quite stopped thinking about.
That’s what The Art of Adventure™ is about.

Explore the I Love Washington collection and find the place that tells your story — or check back as the adventure, and the collection, continues to grow.
