Mount Rushmore rises from the Black Hills of South Dakota, with the faces of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln carved into the granite mountainside. It’s a place that feels even more impressive in person, surrounded by pine-covered hills, rugged rock, and the wide-open beauty of the Black Hills.

Mount Rushmore is somewhere I’ve personally visited before bringing it home to draw. Staying true to my rule that if I haven’t been there, I don’t draw it, I wanted this artwork to capture not just the monument itself, but the feeling of approaching it through the surrounding landscape.

The original artwork was created by hand on my iPad using my Apple Pen, with dozens of hours spent building the carved faces, rock textures, trees, foreground, and dramatic sky.

That artwork has been transformed into a 336-piece jigsaw puzzle, creating a relaxing and satisfying way to enjoy the scene at home. Once completed, the puzzle measures 12×18 inches, giving you plenty of detail without making it feel overwhelming.
